We Are
Self-Managed

Eastview's membership is its own property management firm

Unlike condominiums and rental properties, Eastview is managed not by a property management firm but by the members themselves. .

Though legally obligated to be administered by a Board of Directors, real decision-making power at Eastview lies collectively with the  membership.  Policies, procedures, by-laws, projects, and major expenses must all be sanctioned by a majority of the members after due consultation.  The Board of Directors, elected annually at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) , is responsible only for executing the collective will of the members on a day-to-day basis as well as functioning as a facilitator of communications among the members, particularly through the monthly newsletter.

The AGM is the main forum in which members determine the goals, objectives, and budget for the coming year.  The AGM is preceded by an extensive and inclusive consultation process in which proposed issues are discussed among the members and a member-sponsored agenda is drafted for the meeting.

Throughout the year members' meetings may be called to vote on certain important issues. The same inclusive consultation process is adopted for these meetings.  Members are strongly encouraged to use the flexible forum of these consultations to share their input with The Board and their fellow members.
